About the Board of Education
The Tenafly Board of Education is a nine-member board of trustees elected by Tenafly residents. Working with the Superintendent (the district's chief school administrator) and the Board Secretary/School Business Administrator, the Board sets district policy, adopts the annual budget, and oversees the Tenafly Public Schools.
Meetings and public comment
Regular meetings are held at the Hegelein Building, 500 Tenafly Road. The Board meets in closed session first; the public session begins at 7:00 PM. Agendas are posted on the Friday before each scheduled meeting. Residents may address the Board on school-related topics during public comment: 3 minutes per person, 30 minutes total.
